Living in Graz: what’s your plan of action?
Perhaps you’ve already settled on an area where you’d like to live. But one important question remains: how will you live?
A popular first choice for first-semester students is a hall of residence – and there are lots of these dotted around Graz. Due to the typically lower costs this entails, it’s common for students to share an apartment and enter into a flat share – either with long-time friends or potential new ones. There are, of course, plenty of individual apartments in Graz too. Rental costs vary, but to give you a general idea, it’s cheaper to live in Graz than in Vienna, Salzburg or Innsbruck.
Everything is new – but that’s a good thing!
Once you’ve made the move, your new life as a student in Graz will not only entail getting to grips with new surroundings, a new study programme and a new daily routine, you’ll also be surrounded by new people. But you don’t need to go to the university to get to know new people - you’ll have the opportunity to do so everywhere you go. In your hall of residence, at sports clubs, at your part-time job, when out partying or maybe even when taking your bike for its annual service: you can make friends for life pretty much anywhere you go!
